Angel Gate is a large scale residential development located on Dantzic Street, between the emerging Noma developments and Manchester’s established Green Quarter. Sited between the River Irk and the historic railway viaduct the design responds to the local context and comprises two iconic apartment blocks with raised communal gardens and roof terraces.
The 14 storey apartment blocks sit at right angles to the viaduct on a lower level plinth creating permeability and views across the site. The plinth along Dantzic Street is set back from pavement edge to create a green boulevard and reduced building scale at street level.
Designed in line with Manchester City Councils development framework, Angel Gate is a catalyst for regeneration along the Irk Valley.
